While other sevens tournaments are keen to boast that they are the best this and the best next, we're just simply happy to be staging the UK's most northerly sevens tournaments. The fact that we have players coming back year after year is all the testament we need that a great weekend is in store! This year is the 21st sevens tournament to be organised by Shetland RFC and it is taking place between 16 - 18 June.

Planning is well advanced. With a press release already made here.
A provisional programme of events has been drawn up here.
An application form can be downloaded here (Microsoft Word format).

News:
In recent years the club has featured on television in Scotland (Reporting Scotland for the Duns match) and on national television (Rugby Special). Now it's time for the world!
Total Rugby, the weekly programme on Sky Sports, are coming up to do a feature on the Shetland Midsummer Sevens.
They wish to savour the special atmosphere generated at one of the furthest north rugby festivals in the world.
Total Rugby is broadcast throughout the world to over 110 million households. Which is roughly 500 million people.
So this could well be the chance for your club to be seen in far flung regions of the world - such as Bolivia, Fiji and Wales.
More details about their visit will be posted as they become avaliable.
